This actually happened a couple months ago: We were getting into bed and I was talking (
ok, whining) to Brad of the list of my pregnancy woes, "My feet are swollen, my back hurts, I'm itchy...". When I finished voicing all my complaints he responded with, "And then there's your face!" Normally, I can hang with his sarcastic humor and dish it right back, but this occasion was different. Instead of a come-back rolling off my tongue there was a steady stream of tears rolling down my cheeks! Can you say sensitive?!? You should have seen the look on Brad's face; total shock and fear. It was PRICELESS!! He felt
sooo bad, but after a few moments of
apologies and
consolation we were both cracking up. So now, "And then there's your face" is a common phrase used around our house when one of us is complaining about something. Try it at your own risk =)
