A Letter From the Editor

Hello Kellams Family Blogger Fans!
Just wanted to let you know that my assistant (aka Proud Papa) is into blogging now as well. As a matter of fact, he will probably be doing most of the picture updates (as he has already taken on that role). Naomi Has Arrived!!!!!

Naomi came into this world on March 10, 2009 at 4:10 pm. She weighed 6lbs 7oz. and measured 18 inches. Now what everyone wants the pictures....

Operation: Deliver This Baby!!

In T minus 20 hours (7 am) we will be heading to the hospital for induction!! They are going to start me with a suppository to soften my cervix and then if need be, he will add the Pitocin drip. Dr. Holly laughed when I asked approximately how long it would be until Naomi makes her Grand Entrance (evidently that's the first question everyone asks). He responded with a rough guesstimate of a couple of hours to a couple of days (implying also that we were on neither end of that spectrum).
As I sit here waiting I am constantly reflecting how awesome the miracle of life is. Like all human life, Naomi is a pinnacle of God's Creations and has become the center of her Daddy's and my affection. Nothing in this world could top this great adventure we have embarked upon...God is so good!

A Priceless Pregnacy Story

This actually happened a couple months ago: We were getting into bed and I was talking (ok, whining) to Brad of the list of my pregnancy woes, "My feet are swollen, my back hurts, I'm itchy...". When I finished voicing all my complaints he responded with, "And then there's your face!" Normally, I can hang with his sarcastic humor and dish it right back, but this occasion was different. Instead of a come-back rolling off my tongue there was a steady stream of tears rolling down my cheeks! Can you say sensitive?!? You should have seen the look on Brad's face; total shock and fear. It was PRICELESS!! He felt sooo bad, but after a few moments of apologies and consolation we were both cracking up. So now, "And then there's your face" is a common phrase used around our house when one of us is complaining about something. Try it at your own risk =)

And The Verdict Please...

Pitting Mom against Dad never worked for me as a kid and it still doesn't work now! Dr. Holly is in agreement (as we expected) with Dr. Wheeler...one more week. We really do agree with them as well. If Naomi can get another week to be that much stronger and healthier than it is definitely worth it. So I am completely offering this up to God with hopes and prayers that we will be bringing home a thriving (& probably dramatic) daughter by next Thursday . As you know, we'll keep you posted!

Are All Bets In?

We are going to see Dr. Holly this morning to discuss possible induction date. Dr. Wheeler now wants to see if I can make it to 37 weeks. I think I am going to do the ol' "mom said no, so go ask dad" trick and see where that gets us and if that doesn't work, Brad said that he is going to slip him an Andrew Jackson to make it worth his time ;-] Either way, I figured if any of you are doing office pools of "guess the birthday" you should probably get all bets in because we *may* have some info for you later today...but don't hold your breath!
