Our Once in a Lifetime Trip

I titled this post very literally. Let me first say, that we had a great time...Cabo was beautiful, the weather was gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the people/culture was as warm as the weather. We would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend the Riu Sante Fe, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to anyone....just DO NOT go with a 1 year old!!! Talk about needing a vacation from your vacation. I have come to the conclusion that going on a trip with a young toddler is more like packing up your life in a suite case (or 5), moving it to another location that lacks the familiarity and conveniences (food, gates, baby-proofed rooms) of your own home. Naomi was in deed a trooper, but she didn't care for the food and only took one half-hour nap each day. She quickly adjusted to the time change so she went to bed each night by 8pm, but there was NO pushing it! It gave us ladies some time to rest and read and Brad & Brian got some "man-cation" time at night. We went with our good friends, Brian, Stacy & Leah Adams. We vacationed so well together!!
Here is our super spread of photos from the trip:

One flight over and one to go

The first night was the hardest. Naomi was still on our time and went to bed @ 6:00 so Brad & I ate in the bathroom!

Is it time to go home yet?!?!

I think she's trying to tell us something...
"I had a great time, but I'm ready to go home and see my dogs!"
Thank you Adams' for a great trip! Let's do it again next year (perhaps minus children?!?). We are blessed to call you friends!!!!

He Has Risen!

A little late getting these posted, but also a fitting time as we are half way through the Easter season, celebrating the 4th Sunday of Easter today leading us into Pentecost.
We had a beautiful Easter. We attended 9am Mass and then made the trek down to Indy to spend it with Brad's family. Naomi wore an adorable pink & green dress from The Children's Place and had a lot of fun with her grandparents and aunt & uncle.
Here are some photos of our day:

The Indy Easter Bunny "hid" some eggs filled with yogurt puffs--YUMMY!
Naomi & Grandpa...the hairline runs in the family =)

Chasing bubbles she got in her Easter basket
Looks like that's gonna be a BiG bubble!!

How cute is she?!?

Belly Blog

Oh dear, it has already started...I am neglecting to keep up to date with our second child! Everyone warned me about this, but I thought, "how hard can it be?". We have purchased Adler's baby book, but haven't written one word in it, have't placed his ultra sound pics in his photo album and I just now realized that I haven't even put up a photo of my belly yet. Geeze! At this rate the poor little guy won't have any documentation of his life ;) So here you go--the bump at 20 weeks. (Courtesy of Happinest Photography of course!)

Naomi's 12 month Photo Shoot

Janelle & Shane Roberts of Happinest Photography have photographed all of our milestones from our engagement photos, to our wedding, Naomi's newborn pics, then again at 6 months and now her at 12 months. We had them come to our house on Naomi's actual birthday and they captured so many wonderful shots of her. We can't believe how good they turned out as Naomi was not having one of her "finer" days. Janelle & Shane are kind of like family to us now; we couldn't imagine using anyone else to document our lives! On a side note, my creative mother MADE Naomi's outfit she is wearing in some of these photos. Thank you Mom and eat your heart out Martha Stewart!! =) OK, here's what you've been waiting to see....

Sweet as a cupcake and so much fun, Naomi Ann just turned ONE!

WHEW!! We made it through our little girl's first birthday bash. We had cupcakes, chicken and children galore! We held it at Envision Life Center (my friends' church) and the venue was perfect. There were many gracious helping hands that went into making this party successful. THANK YOU ALL!!!
Naomi was a pro at eating her cupcake since she already had one this week at her photo shoot. She was rather dainty with it today, which if you know Naomi, dainty she is not. She did GREAT! She was super excited to hang with all her friends & family and enjoyed opening her cards more than her gifts. She is a child that should be in want of NOTHING with all the gifts she received!!
I will leave you some photos from today and will post her 1 year images that Happinest Photography took as soon as we get them. Enjoy....we did!

I think we had over 80 cupcakes!
Naomi with her Great Grandma Tellman and Great Grandpa Weber (she actually had a very cute little cupcake dress on, but we stripped her for her cupcake)
Oh Yeah, here's the good stuff!

The Fastest Year to Date!

I cannot believe that Naomi turned ONE today!!! It seems just like yesterday that I was sitting on my bed at 4am beginning this blog; just 5 weeks before the birth of our daughter. Naomi and I began our day at Bob Evan's with our friends Marita & Amelia Short. Later on in the afternoon we had her 1 year photo shoot with Janelle & Shane of Happinest Photography. They have captured all the big moments of our lives (engagement, wedding, newborn pics...) and have become our friends. We highly recommend them if you are looking for some terrific photos. Naomi didn't have one of her best days (a bit grumpy) so hopefully the few smiles she gave come out in the pictures. I will of course post some photos as soon as we get them!
Now we get to gear up for her big birthday bash this Saturday. I'm looking forward to it, but first, my mom, sister and I have to bake and decorate about 80 cupcakes!
I am so thankful that God trusted us with this precious little girl. I pray that her life be a sweet song of His love and she grows up to be a respectful, confident, loving and kind young lady.
Happy Birthday My Daughter and Apple of My Eye!
