Say Hello To Adler John

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We were blessed with a beautiful baby boy today, Adler John. He was born at 5:04, weighing 6lbs 2oz, and measuring 19'3/4". We found out this morning that Danielle had lost most of her amniotic fluid and that little Adler was breached. Additionally, Danielle tested positive for strep B, which put him at risk for infection. Therefore, Dr. Holly wanted to get him out so Danielle had a C-section. Mommy and Adler are doing great. We are a very blessed family.

Put me in coach....

Want to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans.

I'm presently sitting in the hospital hooked up to an IV and antibiotics. We are scheduled to go back to the OR in about 30 minutes.
I started leaking fluids around 3:00 this morning so I did what any other second time mom would do in this situation...I went out to the kitchen, poured myself a big ol' bowl of Reece's Puffs :) I wasn't contracting out of the norm, so I didn't think any need to wake up poor Dr. Holly (the man who barely sleeps as it is) so I left a message for him at his office. He called me this morning and asked me to come in for a check. I was dilated 1 cm and 50% effaced so he sent me in for an ultrasound.
The ultrasound showed that I have lost most of my amniotic fluid and that Adler is breach. Dr. Holly and Dr. Wheeler consulted and sent me in for a C-section. Never would I have thought this was going to happen today...or any day for that matter. My gut was telling me that I was going to have a full term, plump little man. But, like the title of this post says....
Although I have my game face on, to tell the truth I'm a wee bit nervous. I just PRAY he is healthy and doesn't have to spend one second in the NICU. Brad and I can't wait to meet Adler John!! I can't believe that we will soon (and I mean soon) be a family of four!!!
We'll post photos as soon as we can.
Thank you for ALL the prayers and support!

Naomi's New Digs

Brad's Mom and Dad came for a visit last week and stayed with us for a few days. They were such a HUGE help. It gave my Mom a much needed and deserved break. While they were here, they helped us clean out our guest bedroom (which is now Naomi's new pad) and put her new furniture together. The furniture is great considering all three pieces were $250 from Walmart and they shipped it to our house for 97 cents...can't beat that!!...unless of course it's free :) We've been working on Naomi's bedroom here and there this week and finally have it completed. I was really going for a girlie room without an overly strong theme to it. I think we accomplished just that: it's pretty, bright, fun and oh, so girlie!! My Mom sewed the flowers and leaves that are on the walls (another labor of her unending love!) and I then painted the stems. Brad and I are really happy with it and Naomi thinks she's pretty hot stuff in it! Every morning when I go get her she points to the owls on the picture and says "HOO HOO". She's not talking a ton, or at least not in English. However, she can speak Naomese quite fluently....I just wish I was as versed in that dialect :) Her English consists of: Dog, Dad, Hi, See Ya, Stop, Yeah, Cheese (only when the camera's around), tickle, tickle and various animal sounds. She can sign "more" and "help" and does so often. She's amazing, this girl!!! I'm so excited for her to meet her little brother. We'll have our hands full, but our hearts will be even fuller. I am blessed beyond measure.

She's on lunch break!
