I say this with 95% certainty (as that is what the tech told us), but Brad and I saw the turtle head on the ultrasound!
But, first let me digress to tell you how we found out so early...
I have been contracting since Tuesday, but didn't want to alarm anyone so I didn't say anything right away. Then Thursday while at work they started again so I called Dr. Holly (who was out, so I talked to the nurse) and they said that they would touch base with me on Friday and see how I was doing. I was fine in the morning when they called, but told them I would call if I got any that day. Brad took a vacation day and we got some things done and enjoyed our family day together. About 4pm they started coming back and this time they had quite a bit of pressure behind them. Dr. Holly sent me into the hospital where I was monitored for about an hour and sure enough, they were true contractions so he ordered an ultrasound, some i.v. fluids and a shot of Brethine, which I completely despise because it makes my heart race and gives me uncontrollable shakes. I tried to talk him out of it, but he said it was that or Nubain (a narcotic) which would zonk me out so I went with the lesser of the two "evils".
I'm bed rest for this weekend and will learn my fate for the next 20 weeks when I see him (hopefully Monday).
So I am carrying another little booger!! Naomi was the same way in the womb, but a sweet angel when she came into this world. Let's hope this little guy takes after her...but it would be really nice if he cooperated in utero as well...and has better sleeping habits when he's on the outside...am I asking, too much?!
